Bethel Church Reopening Guidelines

The following guidelines will be in effect until further notice

Overarching thought:  In order to provide a safe and clean facility for members and guests who attend, we’d like to present the following:

If you, or someone from your family(including children) are ill, please stay home & watch the Livestream

  1. BUILDING
  • We will endeavor to keep the building as sanitary as possible
  • The drinking fountain in the foyer will be closed for now 
  • We’re asking everyone to use the DESIGNATED doors to enter and leave the building
  • Doors to the Sanctuary and bathrooms will be kept open.  ONLY 1 PERSON OF EACH GENDER WILL BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE SANCTUARY TO GUARANTEE SAFETY AND DISCRETION 
  • Please practice 6 ft. social distancing
  • Maintain family seating….keep 2 chair distance for non family…be strategic w/ each row
  1. PHYSICAL CONTACT
  • Please only greet each other in a non-contact way 
  • Please respect others by avoiding handshakes and hugs….Be creative…salute…air “high 5’s”…give simulated hugs
  • Tithes/Offerings will be brought to a “Mannequin” stationed at the rear of the auditorium
    • Yes, you read that right 😀
    • The Ushers will dismiss you by row
  • We’ll use prepackaged Communion elements that will be “picked up” from a table at the back of the Sanctuary instead of being “distributed” by ushers
  • All….post service “fellowship” will be done outdoors for the immediate future
    • To facilitate this, we’re asking that the sanctuary be emptied w/in 15 minutes after 

           “the kiss” 😀

    • The Pastoral greeting line will be non-contact…booo
  1. USHERS/GREETERS
  • We’ll continue to use Ushers & Greeters, but without handshakes/hugs
    • We are “recommending” Ushers & Greeters to wear masks on your service date
  • Ushers will be asked to be more “assertive” as to helping people be seated or to “assist” people for proper social distancing
  • Please don’t be upset or disrespectful to their directions
  • Ushers will limit one person of each gender (IN TOTAL) at a time to use bathrooms.  This is help maintain privacy
  • For the immediate future, we’ll discontinue bulletins…please listen carefully to Pastor Kim as she makes verbal announcements
  1. WORSHIP SERVICE
  • The Sunday morning service will be “family style” with children sitting with their parents
  • This service will begin PROMPTLY at 10:00am and will ENDEAVOR to dismiss by 11:30am
  • Sunday School classes FOR ALL AGES will be dismissed until further notice
  • Sunday Evening, Men’s Ministry, Choir practice, and Women’s Ministry meetings will be dismissed until further notice
  • We’ll continue the Thursday & Friday morning “Prayer Services”
  • An OUTDOOR Wednesday evening “Family Service” will be offered; the meeting will last approximately 70 minutes and will begin PROMPTLY at 7:00pm
  • The first Wednesday Family Service will be June 10
    • 10 minutes of the service will be dedicated to the children under Leah Philleo’s direction
    • This service will meet under the Pavilion; rain or shine
  • 6 ft. social distancing is strongly encouraged at all events
  • People who are sick will be encouraged to stay home
  • We will discontinue coffee & cookies service on Sunday mornings until further notice
  • “Meet and greet” will be replaced with noncontact methods like wave and smile from distance
  • The Worship Team(s) will be responsible for cleaning mics, sound booth and “shared devices” 
    • We’ll provide disinfectant wipes
  1. CHILDREN’S MINISTRY AND NURSERY
  • We will not have Wednesday Children’s Church until further notice
  • We will not have a nursery available until further notice…WE DON’T MIND NOISE/CRYING
  1. COMING EVENTS
  • Prayerful evaluations will be made 
  • All decisions will be made through professional consultation, prayer, instruction from Scripture, and the leading of the Holy Spirit
  • We’re going to refrain from complaining, criticism, and division
  • We’re going to proceed together in faith, expectation, and unity; trusting God in all things
